Very disappointed with this campsite!

Very disappointed with this campsite!!! It is not what we were expecting, it didn’t look like the photos when we booked and is most definitely not the Sandaya standard. The new premium pitches are tiny. Everyone staying there was complaining about the size. They are simply too small and very awkward shapes. These ridiculous mounds of bark chips have been left everywhere that make the pitches even smaller. Some mounds of chips are three metres wide between two pitches! They really encroach on the pitches. We just about squeezed on ours but many others really struggled. The pitches are all on top of each other and you have no privacy whatsoever. Yes, the new individual shower block on the premium pitches are great, but that’s the only thing that is good about these pitches. The design of this area feels like living on a newly built housing estate where everyone is on top of each other. My neighbour is washing up literally one metre from where I am sitting at my dinner bench relaxing. There is no divider between your neighbours. The ground on these pitches also hasn?t been cleared properly. It is full of massive stones and sharp rocks everywhere, so you really can?t walk bare foot and it?s also hard to pitch tent pegs because they hit rock often. The premium pitches are right next to a farmers field so many mornings we were right next to his tractor as he ploughed his field all morning. There is a massive tank in the middle of this area that really smelt disgusting. Luckily our pitch wasn?t right next to it, but many others were and the smell is so bad. In trying to make the new chalet area (that is next to the premium camping pitches) calm and serene, they have removed cars from that area. But it means from the premium pitches we then had to walk through a big car park everyday. It?s just not the relaxing campsite experience you expect. This new area (consisting of new premium camping pitches and then lots of chalets) has pretty much doubled the size of the campsite but none of the facilities have been doubled to match. The result is that the pools are now too small, the bar area is too small, the evening entertainment area is tiny. People were dancing literally on top of people sitting down. It doesn?t feel balanced. Having said all this, the older section of the campsite is nicer. It?s traditional, very green, pitches are very spacious and much more private. But it definitely wasn?t nice staying in the new area. And I also cannot fault the staff who were always professional and helpful. In eight years of camping this is probably the worst pitch we have had. It?s very rare that I would say I would not stay here again.
