6th Visit

This was our 6th visit since 2015. We have always enjoyed our stays, making the most of the activities on offer and making life long friendships along the way. My teens particularly enjoy the swimming pool and the wakeboarding on the lake. Our commitment to holidaying at this site has been driven by my son?s passion for carp fishing. In previous years we have enjoyed the excitement of the ?big catch? and have numerous pictures to tell the tale. However the last couple of seasons the frequency of catch and size of specimen has fallen. This year nothing in 2 weeks. This was not just our experience and I fear this can no longer be considered a fishing lake. Les Alicourts was always a name I associated with quality and good customer service, but sadly standards there too are not quite the same. We had problems as the electric was not working on our premium pitch and had to be reached from the
pitches behind. This required extra extension leads. This was not just our pitch, but a few all along the lakeside. I appreciate failures happen, but an explanation at check in would have been a good start, but we were left to find this out for ourselves from other campers on site. Eventually a connection was established following 2 visits to reception and 2 hours of fiddling with various connections. The lakeside sanitary block is no longer. It has needed updating for some years and I understand this may eventually be on the cards. However this seasons half boarded up, half open offering was less than satisfactory. The cleaning was ad hoc, the drains running very slow, and the aesthetic very poor. Definitely not 5 star. The activities appear also to have been reduced. Less wakeboarding sessions, very few paddle boards and generally just fewer activities across the board. When under private
ownership this site was buzzing. There was no mistaking the animations team, but staff this year were noticeably stretched. The bar took the brunt of this reduced staffing with long queues forming. This is a beautiful site and we did enjoy catching up with friends and sending time by the lake, but it is not what it was. Time for a change next season and probably not SANDAYA.
